Steel platelegs are the third weakest platelegs in the game. They require a Defence level of 20 to wear, and provide the same bonuses as a steel plateskirt. They are, however, 1kg heavier than the plateskirt, leading some male players to wear the plateskirt instead of the platelegs. A player with 46 Smithing can make them by using three steel bars on an anvil while carrying a hammer either in their inventory or in their toolbelt, granting 112.5 Smithing experience in the process. A pair of steel platelegs respawn in the Wilderness Ruins north of The Graveyard of Shadows. It can also be bought from Louie's Armoured Legs Bazaar.
